Playing Buddha

Before you continue...

Pause for a moment.
Take one slow breath.
Notice where you are.
Notice what you hear.
Notice what you feel in your body right now.
Take one more breath.
...
Welcome.

You're Already Playing

Whether you arrived here intentionally or accidentally, you've just participated in the simplest form of Playing Buddha.A small interruption.
A moment of awareness.
A return to the present.
Playing Buddha is a community art project exploring what happens when creativity, presence, and human connection become a shared practice.

Do You Have a Buddha With You?

Whether it's one of ours, one you've painted yourself, one found in a thrift store, one inherited from a friend, or one that's been sitting quietly on a shelf for years...We'd love to see it.

What Is Playing Buddha?

Playing Buddha is a collective experiment in awareness, creativity, and connection.People around the world engage with Buddha figures as playful anchors for presence and imagination. Some paint them.
Some meditate with them.
Some travel with them.
Some gift them.
Some simply smile when they notice them. The project is not about Buddhism.
It is not about belief.
It is not about becoming anything. It is about engaging life with a little more attention, curiosity, and play.
